This site has been made for pilots and non-pilot outdoor adventurers looking to enjoy the public use cabin system, which is a unique treasure in Alaska. If we do not use the cabins we will lose them!
This cabin is no longer available and has been demolished by the Alaska Forest Service in 2015. This page serves as a historical record of the cabin and the state it was found in 2012.
During Tom Bass’ expedition in 2012 the cabin was still in usable condition considering it had not been tended to in 10 years. According to Tom this was one of the most beautiful sites in the whole cabin system. However, he recounted that fishing was poor and no boat was available for use on site. Depending on weather conditions floatplanes could tie up at two different spots, as depicted in the photo above.
