This is a standard cabin that is set up “hunter-style” with a covered deck. There is a nice beach which is fairly protected and great for tying down. Use caution when flying the valley to the Northwest, there are power lines that are notated on certain maps and extend past 1,200 ft.

Facilities:

The 12-by-14 cabin ( hunter-style ) has two single and two double bunks, to sleep up to six people. It is also equipped with a table and benches, broom, wood stove and an outhouse toilet. A bear-proof food storage locker is provided. Water and electricity are not provided. Water is available from an adjacent stream, but guests should be sure to treat water before drinking or cooking with it. It is recommended that guests bring their own water supply. In addition to bringing a cook stove, guests should provide their own firewood, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, lanterns or flashlights, cookware, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, a fire extinguisher and matches, among other necessities. Guests are expected to pack out trash and clean the cabin before leaving.

Directions:

Mainland, 44 miles SE of Wrangell by float plane. Cabin is located on east shore of Eagle Lake approximately 1 mile from lake outlet.
