Public Lake Cabins of Alaska

Lynx Lake Cabin #3

Book Cabin

This is the third cabin on Lynx Lake and is situated next to cabin #2. This would be the least preferred cabin for floatplanes in comparison to the other two but still a great place to stay.

Facilities:

Sleeps 4 (maximum 6) with a maximum stay of 5 consecutive nights. Lynx Lake Cabin 3 was replaced with a new log cabin in 2015. Lynx Lake cabin 2 & 3 are approximately 200 feet from each other making them good choices for multiple groups wanting to stay close to each other. Each cabin has a trail to Lynx Lake that is approximately 300 feet away. The summer parking lot/trailhead is at Tanaina Lake mile 4.7 Nancy Lake Parkway. Nancy Lake Parkway is mile 67.3 Parks Highway, approximately 90 minute driving time from Anchorage. The canoe trail involves crossing several lakes and portages between lakes for about 4 miles to reach the cabin and takes approximately half a day. Lynx Lake cabin 2 is also accessible by floatplane in the summer. The cabins can also be reached overland near Mile 5 Lynx Lake Road. Note that this rough, unmaintained road is closed to highway vehicles at Mile 4 during summer months. Access beyond the gate is hike-in only. During the winter, the road is not plowed and may be traversed by ski, snowshoe, dog sled or snowmachine. Park at the Winter Trailhead at mile 2.2 Nancy Lake Parkway during the winter months. From the Winter Trailhead visitors must travel 6-7 miles along the unplowed portion of Nancy Lake Parkway and across several frozen lakes. ATVs prohibited. Lynx Lake cabin 2 can also be reached by plane in the winter.
