This site has been made for pilots and non-pilot outdoor adventurers looking to enjoy the public use cabin system, which is a unique treasure in Alaska. If we do not use the cabins we will lose them!
This cabin is located in a state park and can become very crowded. During the summer months it is used by the campground for the host. Glatfelder cabin is in the same park and is available during the summer.
Facilities:
Maximum stay of 3 consecutive nights. This log cabin is on the south side of the Quartz Lake parking lot and can be driven to year-round. The road into the recreation area is steep near the cabin, so please use caution. The cabin measures 20×24. Two lower double plywood platform bunks and two single upper platform bunks that can sleep 6 adults. The cabin is supplied with a wood stove, table, seats, broom, ax, saw, and ash scoop. All other camping equipment and supplies must be provided by the user. The cabin is on the right side next to the fee station.
