Public Lake Cabins of Alaska

Trapper Joe Lake Cabin

Cabin Does Not Require Reservation

This is a historic cabin which has received a lot of love from the refuge area in keeping it fixed up. Some photos show the airplane docked in front of the cabin but there is a great tie up in the stream 100 ft from the cabin which is protected. The lake is small so use caution when coming in or out heavy. The cabin itself is small so it can accommodate at most two people.

Facilities:

A public use cabin is located on the lake with wood stove, outhouse, and no fee. This cabin is first-come first-served. No trash pickup; please pack out litter.
